An approachable Principal and an affable staff are the
hallmark of the Vidyashram, Jubilee Hills. Children find it
easy to reach out to the staff and the Principal both in times
of triumph and distress. The school offers a homely
environment and the Principal down, everybody is student
friendly.
Bhavan's is a school dedicated to promoting Bharatiya Vidya
amalgamating the best of our rich culture and heritage and
tempering it with the latest trends in science and technology.
So while on the one hand we have students involved in a
project on Solar power, we have Gita chanting, sloka recitation
and spiritual activity classes on the other. Students are made
to imbibe correct values not through long-boring lectures but
by being rewarded with a certificate on stage for a good act
that will help the entire student community discern between
right and wrong.
Corporal punishment is abhorred at school. Teachers are firm
yet loving and hence ensuring discipline is not a problem;
Children with emotional/behavioral problems are dealt with
through counselling, being talked to on a one to one basis and
the parents being called if necessary. The treatment meted out
to all the students is the same, irrespective of family
background, status or designation.
Most teachers at the Bhavan’s have over 20 years experience,
yet they are most modern in attitude and skills where teaching
is concerned. The entire teaching staff is computer literate
and using lesson modules, prepared through computers has
become the order of the day. Role Play, skits, dramatization,
charts and models, conducting experiments, quiz, seminar,
debates find an active part in class room teaching.
A fine spirit of healthy competitions is inculcated in the
students through the inter house competition-both academic and
non-academic. More over children are encouraged to participate
extensively in Inter school competitions which will help to
serve as a parameter to assess their skills and talents.
The school offers a wide array of extra curricular activities
that the child can freely choose from suiting his needs and
abilities. Archery, Gymnastics, skating, nature club, tourism
club are some of the special activities offered.
Community based projects are a regular feature of the school
and so visits to old age home, orphanages, blind school, slum
areas, sponsorship of girl-children’s education (Nanhi Kali
Project) through Mahindra and Mahindra Trust are common. For
the second year in succession students have donated Rs.20,000
to provide for `Shashi' a Lion Tailed Macaque (an endangered
species) at the Nehru Zoological park. All these activities
ensure that the children understand how their less fortunate,
underprivileged brethren live and do their little bit to
alleviate their suffering.
The school is the proud owner of two state of the art
computer laboratories. Both are equipped with LCD projectors
and fully functional systems with net facility. We have a bank
of over 130 lesson modules in various subjects prepared by the
teachers of the school. There are numerous reference C.Ds.
also available.
Bhavan’s Vidyashram believes in "Stress Free learning in
serene environs". |
